さえ〜ば— If Only This One Thing

• お金さえあれば、何でも買える。

  Okane sae areba, nan demo kaeru.

  As long as I have money, I can buy anything.

  Noun お金 + さえ + ば-form あれば frames money as the single sufficient condition.

• 君さえよければ、一緒に行きたい。

  Kimi sae yokereba, issho ni ikitai.

  As long as you're okay with it, I'd like to go together.

  さえ + い-adjective ば-form よければ isolates your approval as the only requirement.

• 薬を飲みさえすれば、すぐに治りますよ。

  Kusuri wo nomi sae sureba, sugu ni naorimasu yo.

  As long as you just take the medicine, you'll get better right away.

  Verb ます-stem 飲み + さえすれば splits the verb to place emphasis on the single needed action.

• ・To emphasize a verb, split it: ます-stem + さえ + すれば (飲みさえすれば).
• ・The pattern implies that condition alone is enough — nothing else is required.
• ・Often expresses relief, or a wish/regret when combined with hypotheticals.
