XP · levels · ranks
Earn XP, level up and climb seven samurai ranks
Every lesson, right quiz answer, known card, speaking attempt and mock exam earns XP. Every 150 XP is a level — 50 levels in all, across seven ranks from 足軽 Ashigaru to 将軍 Shogun. A daily streak and a goal you pick, from 10 to 60 minutes a day, keep the habit going. It all lives on one account, so what you earn on the website shows in the LenGaki Android app, and the other way round.

- +10 a right quiz answer
- +8 a card you know

Hiragana & katakana
Learn kana the way it sticks
Hiragana in 27 units and katakana in 31, one row at a time. Every character gets a memory hook and its sound, then a quick check; each row ends with a test in your choice of four formats. The interactive chart and a printable practice sheet are free too.
104 hiragana and 120 katakana: the basic 46 of each, dakuten, handakuten, combination sounds and katakana loanword sounds.

Kanji
2,057 kanji, N5 to N1
Every kanji has its own page with on'yomi and kun'yomi readings, meanings, example words with romaji and an animated stroke-order diagram. Browse by JLPT level, trace the strokes yourself, and mark the ones you have learned.

Vocabulary
7,788 words, organised by level
Readings, romaji, meanings, parts of speech and example sentences for every JLPT level, with search and filters. Save the words you want to keep, mark the ones you know (+12 XP each) and drill them as flashcards.

Grammar
445 grammar points, N5 to N2
Learn grammar two ways. The grammar path is a road of bite-size lessons — read the point, build the sentence, compare it with its look-alikes — and the reference library gives every point its own page: what it does, its structure, and example sentences broken down word by word, with comparisons for the pairs learners mix up, like は and が.

Flashcards
Flashcards that know what you know
Swipe through kana, kanji, vocabulary and grammar decks for every level. Mark a card as known (+8 XP the first time) and it moves to the back of the deck; the rest come first until they stick. On a keyboard, the arrow keys sort and the space bar flips.

Quizzes & marathons
Quizzes that tell you right away
Fifteen-question kanji, vocabulary and mixed challenges — readings, meanings, listening, matching pairs and typed answers — plus three endless marathons. Every right answer earns XP (+10 to +15), and the kana typing tests are free for everyone.
