聴き (masu-stem) + ながら + 勉強します

見ながら (while looking) + 歩く
コーヒーを飲みながら、ゆっくり話しましょう。

飲みながら (while drinking) + 話しましょう
• Key Concept: ながら requires the SAME subject for both actions. • Detail: For different subjects, use 間に. • Detail: ながら also has a concessive use meaning "even though/despite that": 知っていながら黙っていた (knew it yet stayed quiet). • Summary: This use is separate and more literary/formal.
The JLPT rarely asks whether you recognise a pattern — it asks which of several similar patterns fits. These are the ones ながら is tested against.
間に is used when the two actions have DIFFERENT subjects, or when one action happens within the time span of another; ながら requires one person doing both at once.
つつ is a stiffer, literary equivalent of ながら with the same 'while' meaning, and also more readily carries the concessive 'even though' sense.
ている describes a single ongoing action; ながら links two simultaneous actions performed by the same person.
